Dallas Cowboys quarterback and media spotlight lover Tony Romo opened himself to headlines like the one of this article by appearing on NBC’s weight loss show. Giants, Eagles and Redskins fans everywhere laugh.
“Star” QB Tony Romo made a guest appearance Tuesday night on NBC’s reality TV show, The Biggest Loser. Romo, who broke up with girlfriend Jessica Simpson around the time of her VH1 reality TV show The Price of Beauty was being filmed, really showed her by having a cameo in a bigger (literally and figuratively), less cultural show. Maybe he’s sending her a subliminal message or two.
“It’s a fantastic show with a great message,” Romo said, revealing his dislike for excess weight. Romo did not confirm if Jerry Jones had sent him to find big guys that could be shaped into linemen.
It seems like a main goal of the appearance was to promote workout gear by the Starter brand that he is endorsing. The products are available at WalMart, an establishment that rolls back prices, a fate in Romo’s future if he doesn’t win a championship soon.
Tuesday night’s appearance is the latest example of Romo’s extra curricular hobbies. Obviously not focusing on the fact that he’d be better off coaching himself than taking direction from Wade Philips, the off-field interests of Romo only grow. Beyond this TV stint, Tony Romo continues to pursue golf, in attempt to be a master at something. The QB has tried to qualify for the U.S. Open, so he can lose at that, too.
